The Chevy Sonic sedan and hatchback are currently offered in six different trim levels.  For the 2013 model year that number will grow to seven. Make way for the all-new Chevy Sonic RS.

While retaining the cute, happy-go-lucky look of the current 2012 Chevy Sonic models, the forthcoming RS gains a slightly more aggressive edge - in terms of both looks and performance.  Everything about it - from its economical price and fuel economy to its stylish presence and zippy performance - is sure to appeal to hyper-discerning young consumers.

Beneath the hood of the 2013 Chevy Sonic RS lays a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine. Not only does this underscore the model's reputation as the only one in its class to offer a turbo variant. It pumps out 138 horsepower, offering the ultimate sense of instant gratification. To allow drivers to fully realize the car's power, Chevy has even made significant modifications to its exterior to enhance aerodynamics.

The turbocharged Chevy Sonic RS also gains four, fun exterior color options: Victory Red, Summit White, Cyber Gray Metallic, and Black Granite Metallic. And, it will share the larger 17-inch wheels currently featured on the top-tier Chevy Sonic 1LZ and Chevy Sonic 2LZ.

Inside, the Chevy Sonic RS treats drivers to advanced connectivity via MyLink and Bluetooth. And, as far as aesthetics are concerned, the theme is pure sport, from the seats to the steering wheel.

What about safety? You'll be happy to know the Sonic RS stands out from its sibling models with a unique set of four-way disc brakes, which are mated to a four-channel ABS system and incorporates brake force distribution. As a whole, this advanced system intelligently adjusts the RS to different road conditions and cargo loads.
