Their dialogue around the zero-emissions system has been running since the beginning of the year. It's beenVolt wins this award. Volt breaks that record. That's all good and well. But, some enthusiasts are understandably starting to get tired of hearing the EV's name. Chevy gets it.
Familiar with the Spark? Well, in mid October, Chevrolet announced plans to produce a pure electric variant of the mini car. Dubbed the Spark EV, it's still in developmental stages. However, Berger Chevrolet, located at 2525 28th St SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512, expects limited quantities of the new EV to arrive in the U.S., as soon as 2013.
Like many EVs in the works, the Chevy Spark is being designed to transform the future of city driving. Unlike many EVs on the market, there is nothing hum-drum about out. In a few short words, the Chevrolet Spark offers extraordinary fun, function, and a distinct fashion edge.
Speaking on the decision to take the Spark to production, Jim Federico, Global Vehicle Chief Engineer for EVs, Chevrolet says, "Our global demo fleets continue to provide insight into the needs of electric vehicle customers living in urban environments. The Spark EV is another step in Chevrolet's plan to provide customers with a variety of electrification solutions to address the lifestyle and transportation needs of people around the world."1
When will the Chevy Spark EV be available? In the not-to-distant future. According to Chevy, the pure-electric Spark will be available in select U.S. markets, in limited quantity, in 2013.
