Chevrolet Tahoe Overview

Chevy Tahoe reviewed

Like the Chevrolet Suburban, the Chevrolet Tahoe is a do-anything, go-anywhere sport-utility vehicle. The Tahoe was produced by General Motors in year 1995 as a full-sized SUV. Chevrolet later redesigned and repackaged their mid-size S-10 Blazer as the Blazer, renaming the full-size Blazer the Chevrolet Tahoe. The 2010, 2011 and 2012 Tahoe models are all part of the third generation and built on the General Motors GMT900 platform. A new hybrid version also became available during this time. The new GMT900 based Tahoe exceeded initial sales despite the fading market for large SUVs. Based on a platform similar to the Suburban and Silverado models, the Tahoe makes a stable rig for hauling trailers. The towing capacity of this full-size SUV is 8,500 pounds. Precise, responsive steering along with its rigid chassis help provide a smooth, even ride. The Chevy Tahoe offers cargo space, passenger modifications and both a stylish interior and exterior. It gives you the versatility of a low-range four-wheel drive while delivering a smooth ride. The 2010 Chevy Tahoe received a number of significant additions as well as subtractions for its lineup. One of the most significant changes was the removal of the 4.8-liter V8 and the 6.2-liter V8 engines which were both discontinued. The 5.3-liter V8 engine still remains and comes standard with E85 ethanol capability. In 2011 the Tahoe gained an integrated trailer-break controller which included an optional Trailering package. The 2012 Tahoe model added an optional navigation system and heated steering wheel. Thanks to its strong aptitude, comfy ride, superior materials and generous passenger capability make the Tahoe has become a top choice among its competition.
