Berger Chevrolet is excited and proud to announce that the fastest electric vehicle charging station in Grand Rapids is now open! With a centralized, state-of-the-art DC Fast Charging Station available to electric vehicle owners, owning an electric vehicle in the Grand Rapids community has never been so convenient.

Located at 2770 Breton Road, Grand Rapids MI 49546, the new EV charging station will offer twelve DC Fast Chargers and opened its gates to the public in October 2024. Currently, the lot has six of the twelve chargers installed.

Thanks to the Fast Charging Stations or DCFCs, on average, EVs can expect to reach 80% charge within 15-25 minutes at the Berger station. Due to the necessary high-power 480V connections and cost, these charges are typically only found at commercial charging stations. But that didn’t stop Berger Chevrolet!

Many of the public chargers in the Grand Rapids area are classified as Level 1 or 2, which require a much longer charging cycle to reach a desired charge. Level 1 is a charger plugged into a standard 110 outlet that typically takes 10-20 hours to reach a full charge. Level 2 is a much faster 240V powered charger that takes roughly 4-6 hours to reach a full charge. But with the rising popularity and manufacturing of EV vehicles, Berger Chevy understands that EVs need to be easier to own and maintain.
