Back in 2017, Berger was lucky enough to claim Troy DeJonge as our own! Troy has worked in GM Parts for 27 years, and 5 years ago, he decided it was time for a change. He spoke with our Parts Management Team, and although they didn’t have a Wholesale Parts Consultant position available at the time, they didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to hire Troy. For the first year of his employment at Berger, Troy was a floater in the Wholesale Parts Department where he worked primarily with returns and credits and helped the team wherever was most needed.

Today, Troy is one of our top-notch Wholesale Parts Consultants. His job focuses on backordered and hard-to-get parts, which allows him to work with customers all over the country. When it comes to his professional life, Troy claims that his only regret is not coming to work at Berger sooner. He loves the people and customers he works with. Most of all, he is continually impressed by his Management Team. He stressed how much he enjoys working with Kevin Palmbos, Wholesale Parts Manager, and Andrew Ruthven, Parts Director, and how helpful they are to him and his team.

Believe it or not, even after 27 years in the business, there’s more to Troy than just GM Parts. Troy loves being able to hit the course for a game of golf and claims that he, “probably watches way too many sports”. Troy is a “Go Blue!” kind of guy. His favorite teams to watch are the U of M Basketball and Football teams. We asked Troy what he looks forward to most in 2022, and his easy answer was his trip to Jamaica coming up at the end of January. We wish we could join you!

“Troy has always been willing to help others no matter what is going on in his day. He always has a great attitude and never views anything as not his job”, said Corbin Anschutz, Parts Operations Manager. The comment of Troy never viewing something as not his job correlates so accurately and beautifully to who he is and how he started here. Troy is always willing to lend a hand and help a colleague out. We could go on and on about how great he is, but our Parts Driver Manager, Justin Searl said it best, “Troy is a great employee to work with but an even better person. We are thankful to have him on our team”.

Thank you for all you do, Troy. We’re thrilled to kick off the New Year with you as our Employee Spotlight.
