Repair vs Replace

So your windshield has gotten damaged. Now what? It’s important to act fast. While your chip or crack might be small now, smaller cracks can grow quickly. A good rule of thumb to know whether your windshield can be repaired or if it requires replacement is to compare the damage to a quarter or a dollar bill. If a chip is smaller than a quarter or a crack can be completely covered by a dollar bill, then the damage can likely be repairable with a resin fill. However, depending on the location, even if a crack or chip is smaller than a quarter or dollar bill, the entire windshield could still need replacing. If the damage is larger than either a quarter or a dollar bill, it most likely will need a full windshield replacement.
