2023 CHEVY TRAVERSE OVERVIEW

November 13th, 2023 by

With Grand Rapids winter soon approaching and the planning for holiday trips across Michigan beginning, you need a family vehicle you can rely on no matter the weather or distance. Introducing the 2023 Chevy Traverse, the mid-size SUV ready to take on a full-size life.

Design

Available in six trim levels, the Chevy Traverse offers an array of styles to fit your personal preferences and budget. Get the necessities with the LS or LT Cloth or opt for the LT Leather for an elevated feel. You can really step it up a notch by choosing the sporty RS trim level or keep it classy and sophisticated in the Premier and High Country models. If you really want to stand out choose from the Midnight, Sport, or Redline editions. With blacked-out wheels or red badging, you will really make a statement out on the road.

In addition to choosing your trim level, you can pick an exterior color that speaks to you. From classic colors like the Iridescent Pearl Tricoat to subtle pops of color like the Silver Sage Metallic. Skip the subtly all together and go bold with the Radiant Red Tintcoat. No matter your style there is sure to be an option that suits you. The customization doesn’t stop there though! With the Premier trim level choose from three interior color palettes: Jet Black, Chai, or Maple Sugar.

Whatever your style preference may be, the Chevrolet Traverse never sacrifices looks for functionality. Depending on your trim level the Traverse seats seven or eight passengers. The 7-passenger seating comes standard in all models, except for the LS, which comes standard with 8. With the LT-Cloth you can choose whichever passenger seating works best for you.

Whether you have family or friends to fill those seven or eight seats or not, the best-in-class max cargo volume of 98.2 cubic feet makes this vehicle well worth it. With a 60/40 split-folding third row bench seat, you can customize your space to fit your storage and passenger needs. In the High Country trim level, you can easily split your back row with a click of a button thanks to the inclusion of the power 60/40 split-folding third row bench seat. Plus, hidden storage spaces behind the available 8-inch diagonal infotainment screen and under the rear cargo floor are perfect for concealing your mittens or snow brush until the winter!

Technology

The Traverse doesn’t just offer style and space, it also sports cutting-edge technology. Easily navigate the road and your vehicle with the available Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System with Connected Navigation and an 8-inch diagonal HD color touch-screen. Whether you are taking off on a road trip or just heading home from work, you can stay connected with wireless Apple CarPlay or wireless Android Auto compatibility. The Traverse also includes USB ports in every row, making it easy for you and your passengers to charge and connect on the go. The Bose Premium 10-speaker sound system with Richbass subwoofer also comes available on some trim levels. It is the perfect sound system for those who want to drown out the rest of the world and just enjoy the ride, whether you are riding solo or with the band!

As the days are getting colder and shorter, it is time to start mentally and physically preparing for a Michigan winter. Luckily, in the Chevy Traverse, you are able to quickly adapt to your terrain with the Driver Mode Selector. With a simple turn of a dial, you can adjust your vehicle’s performance on challenging road surfaces. Adjust to front-wheel drive for the most fuel-efficient driving, all-wheel drive to add traction for when you are driving on slippery surfaces, off-road for when you are adventuring through rough terrain and could use extra torque in the rear wheels, tow/haul for when you are pulling your camper or towing heavy loads, and last but not least, snow for added traction during the West Michigan winters. The drive modes available on the Driver Mode Selector vary on whether you decide to go with a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive Traverse.

The 2023 Chevy Traverse also sports a 3.6 liter V6 engine and 9-speed transmission, so you can own the open road. With available towing up to 5,000 pounds you can transport the family snowmobiles or other winter toys up north to the cabin this year with ease. You can also opt to add Adaptive Cruise Control to your Traverse LT Leather, a feature that can automatically maintain a driver-selected gap from the detected vehicle you are following while you steer, reducing the need to frequently brake and accelerate when you are driving on the highway. This feature comes standard on the RS, Premier, and High Country models.

Above all, the technology included in the Traverse prioritizes the driver’s and passengers’ safety. This mid-size SUV comes equipped with Chevy Safety Assist, a suite of six advanced safety features to give you more confidence each time you get into your Chevy vehicle. Features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure, and Intellibeam which allows the vehicle to automatically turn the high beam headlamps on and off according to surrounding traffic conditions.
