BOB GOEDE JULY EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations are in order for our July Employee Spotlight, Bob Goede!

Before his current career here at Berger, Bob worked in the automotive industry for 10 years as a body mechanic. In 2006 Bob began his journey here at Berger as a body mechanic in our Collision Center. 

When asked what a typical day in the body shop looks like, Bob said, “Hopefully busy”.😂 He does the bodywork for vehicles from start to finish and then passes the vehicle along to our paint technicians to paint-match the vehicle and make it look like new again. 

As a body shop tech, Bob is responsible for repairing vehicles that have been damaged due to accidents or other incidents and restoring them to their pre-damage condition. After the estimate is created, Bob develops a repair plan. This involves deciding which parts need to be repaired or replaced, what techniques are best suited for the job, and how long the repairs will take. Body shop technicians are skilled in various repair techniques. They may replace parts such as doors and fenders or repair structural damage. This requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that the vehicle’s safety and integrity remain intact while also meeting GM manufacturer guidelines. Bob is a highly skilled body technician who combines technical expertise with craftsmanship to restore damaged vehicles to their original condition. His work not only requires mechanical proficiency but also an eye for detail.

Some of the reasons that Bob enjoys working at Berger are that our facilities are air-conditioned which is great for our employees, but also for the products that we use on vehicles to repair them. And, here at Berger, we have over 125,000 parts on-site. Having a parts warehouse with the parts needed to repair vehicles at our disposal allows Bob and our other technicians to repair customer vehicles faster because they don’t have to wait for parts to be delivered. This, in turn, allows our customers to get back on the road quicker!

When asked if he wanted to give a shout-out to anyone in his department he said that he couldn’t pick just one, he appreciates everyone on our Collison Team! He also mentioned that his favorite Berger event is our monthly employee luncheons.

Bob currently drives a Chevy Impala. When he’s not at work, he enjoys boating on the lake in his pontoon. As a true car guy, Bob has a hoist in his garage that he uses to fix up his family’s vehicles.
