BRAD STOFFERS EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Let’s hear it for our February Employee Spotlight and Service Technician, Brad Stoffers!
Brad joined the Berger Chevy team in 2017 after a few of his high school friends started working in Berger’s Quick Service Lanes. His friends referred him to join the team and quickly after, he was encouraged by his superiors to push for more. Now, eight years later, Brad’s hard work has paid off and he is now an ASE Master Certified and State Master Certified Service Technician.
A typical day for Brad as a Service Technician at Berger consists of diagnosing vehicles, communicating with Service Advisors, and repairing vehicles. While the details of each repair may be tedious to some, the nitty-gritty details excite Brad the most. His favorite vehicle repairs to work on are frame replacements with Berger’s Collision Center. It’s no small task, with the vehicle being completely disassembled, but Brad equates it to putting together a big Lego set. Brick by brick, they put the car back together!
One of the reasons Brad enjoys working at Berger is because of his peers. He describes his fellow Service Technicians as focused, dedicated, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it’s working together on a team lift or just asking for advice on a repair, they have each other’s back. He also appreciates how much Berger’s Service department invests in their employees. From the ample amount of education opportunities to the state-of-the-art facilities our technicians work in, our Service Department knows our employees can succeed when given the tools and support to do so.
When asked if there’s a particular coworker within the Service Department that he enjoys working with, Brad responded with all of his fellow technicians. Brad witnesses his coworkers strive for the very best every day and he can tell that they really, truly care. They care about the work that they do, the well-being of their customers, and for each other. It’s a team that truly wants to see everyone succeed. We also have it on good authority that Brad’s coworkers describe him in the same way, which is just a testament to this team’s strong sense of comradery and community.
Outside of his department, Brad would like to give a shoutout to RJ, Jim, and Connor at the Parts Counter for always being willing to help and go the extra mile. Even when the odds are against them, they always do their very best to get the Service Department the parts that they need.
2025 is Berger’s 100th year in business! When reflecting on the significance of our 100th anniversary, Brad feels that it says a lot about the quality of our dealership and the care that we have for the community that Berger has been serving for 100 years. He also credits each department’s dedication to holding each other accountable and working together to serve West Michigan.
If you’re interested in joining Berger’s Service Department, Brad’s advice would be to be prepared to work hard, focus, and always be willing to learn. He also emphasizes that communication within your department is key. Whether it’s with your fellow techs, advisors, managers, or customers, it’s important to make sure everyone is on the same page.
When not at work, Brad enjoys playing pickleball, working on his 2006 Chevy Silverado (which funnily enough, used to be Berger’s old shop truck), and keeping his mind sharp! Whether it’s YouTube videos on math equations or researching vehicles, Brad is always trying to improve his skills and increase his knowledge.
Once again, please join us in congratulating our February 2025 Employee Spotlight, Brad Stoffers!
