BRIAN MARR EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Let’s hear it for our July 2025 Employee Spotlight, Brian Marr!
Brian is a Used Vehicle Sales Consultant here at Berger, and he will soon be celebrating his tenth work anniversary with us in September! When Brian joined the Berger team in 2015, it was his first opportunity in the automotive industry. Now, a decade later, Brian is one of our top salesmen!
Throughout his career at Berger, he’s been able to witness the automotive industry change over the years. With different vehicle options, the introduction of electric vehicles, and added features like heated steering wheels and adaptive cruise control, working in the automotive industry has kept Brian on his toes. In addition to witnessing the evolution of vehicle features and technology, he also finds his longevity to be helpful when it comes to selling vehicles. Because of his tenure and credibility, Brian is able to help more returning customers trade in and trade up, and he often receives referrals from his loyal clientele!
As a sales consultant, a typical day for Brian consists of following up with past customers, searching for the right vehicle for his current customers, and reaching out to new potential customers. Brian’s favorite part about his job is the people he works with. With a competitive group of coworkers and supportive managers, his team pushes him to do his very best month in and month out. Nothing like a little healthy competition to keep things fun and interesting!
One of the reasons Brian enjoys working at Berger Chevy is the appreciation the dealership has for its employees. Plus, Berger makes sure everyone is fed well! Whether it’s summer employee luncheons or managers providing lunch during sales training, good food is a priority for Berger Chevy. In fact, Brian’s favorite Berger event to attend is the luncheons, especially when his favorite food truck, Two Bones BBQ, is there.
Another reason Brian appreciates working at Berger is our vast selection of used vehicles. With the largest inventory of pre-owned vehicles in Grand Rapids, he is able to help his customers find the perfect vehicle for them.
Speaking of customers, one thing Brian would like our community to know is that we strive to deliver the best product and service to everyone who walks through the dealership doors. This year, Berger is celebrating 100 years of serving West Michigan’s automotive needs. Brian says that our slogan, “it’s always better at Berger,” is more than just a tagline; it’s the truth! Our dedication to our customers to deliver the very best products and service, combined with our longstanding legacy as a 5th-generation family-owned business, puts us well above the rest. It’s quite the feat that Brian is proud to be a part of!
When asked if there is anyone in his department that he’d like to give a shoutout to, Brian responded with his fellow Used Vehicle Sales Consultant, Duane Woodwyk. Before working at Berger, Brian and Duane had previously worked together. After four long years of convincing, Duane persuaded Brian to join him in Berger’s used vehicle department, and the rest is history! To this day, the two hold each other accountable and push each other to work hard.
Someone he’d like to thank outside of his department is John Stull. John is always willing to lend a helping hand when it comes to delivering a used vehicle to a customer, and he always picks up the phone when Brian calls.
When not at work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and three dogs. He also enjoys going to the zoo with his 3-year-old granddaughter and has another grandchild on the way! A fun fact not many people may know about him is that he has a large comic book collection. Brian mainly enjoys reading Marvel comics, and when he travels to a new place, he always visits a bookstore to add more comics to his collection.
Join us in congratulating Brian on being Berger’s July 2025 Employee Spotlight!
