FLOYD SANTIAGO EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Please join us in congratulating and celebrating our October Employee Spotlight, Floyd Santiago! 

Floyd has been in the automotive industry for 5 years but that’s not where his experience with vehicles began. As a child, Floyd enjoyed helping his dad work on cars and he has carried that passion on into his career and his free time.

Before beginning his career here at Berger, Floyd attended M-Tech to pursue his education as a mechanic. After some time as a mechanic, a friend who worked at Berger referred him to our Collision Center and the rest is history! Floyd currently works in our Collision Center as a Body Shop Technician. 

Some of the reasons Floyd enjoys working at Berger is because he likes the comfortable atmosphere and the people he works with. He went on to say that he feels that he and his colleagues are valued as people, and not just as workers or a number. Floyd also enjoys Berger’s Track Day at US131 Motorsports Park where members of the West Michigan community can come watch or race their GM vehicles down the dragstrip! He also mentioned that he enjoys working on Chevys, he has two of his own after all. 

Floyd’s advice to anyone working in our body shop is, “Don’t let it stress you out”. Your coworkers are there to help you out.

When asked if there was anyone in his department he wanted to give a shout-out to he said the Berger Collision Center Manager, Jeremiah. He went on to say that he is understanding, laid back, and a cool person to be around. 

As a Chevy man, Floyd drives a 1994 Chevy Blazer.😎 His favorite part about it is that it’s a two-door. When he’s not at work he can be found working on the Blazer, or his project car, a 1995 Chevy Impala! Just like his father before him, sometimes he’ll even recruit his two kids to help! His daughter is a BIG fan of sanding. Talk about a Chevy family! Floyd also enjoys spending his free time outdoors, fishing, and hunting.
