HANNAH HANER AUGUST EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

July 30th, 2024 by

Please join us in congratulating Hannah Haner as our August Employee Spotlight!

For the last two years, Hannah has spearheaded the monthly Employee Spotlight Campaigns at Berger Chevrolet, highlighting members of the Berger Team for their achievements and sharing their stories with the community. We’re turning the tables on Hannah this month to highlight her success and share her Berger journey with our team and community!

Hannah’s genuine excitement about marketing, community relations, and employee engagement has a sincere impact on our dealership and beyond. She said her favorite part about her job is the opportunity to interact with our employees and the West Michigan community every day. Whether she’s planning an employee luncheon or volunteering at a non-profit, Hannah’s compassion for people shines through.

Prior to working as a Marketing Associate at Berger Chevy, Hannah was earning her bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations at Grand Valley State University while working at NAPA Auto Parts. Over her five years at NAPA, Hannah worked on the parts warehouse and customer service teams, investing her time into the automotive industry as she earned her degree.

When she saw a job posting online for a Marketing Associate focused on Fixed Operations Marketing (Parts, Service, Body Shop) at Berger Chevrolet, she knew her resume was the perfect fit. Upon receiving her resume, Emily LaCroix, Marketing Director, immediately called Andrew Ruthven, Parts Director, to tell him about the almost-too-good-to-be-true candidate that applied for the role. We are so thankful that the stars aligned for Hannah to join the Berger Team.

When asked what a typical day or week looks like for Hannah in marketing, she said, “Who knows!?” From content creation to planning events to email campaigns (“Thank you to all who read our internal newsletters!”) to creating videos to attending community events and so much more, Hannah appreciates that her position offers unique opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the dealership and community.

When asked what Berger events Hannah most enjoys planning, she confidently replied, “All of them”. From the employee luncheons, car show weekends, volunteer opportunities, and the soon-approaching 100-year anniversary celebration, Hannah’s creativity and organizational skills play a role in all of it. Her favorite event to attend at Berger is our Annual All GM Show. She loves the energy, excitement, and enthusiasm surrounding car show weekends.

When asked if there was anyone in another department she’d like to shout out, Hannah mentioned Channah Spaans, Service Director. Hannah has had the opportunity to attend events with Channon including technician career fairs and track day. “Channon always says hi and is always friendly to everyone.” Hannah also mentioned that Channon’s wife makes delicious cookies (that perhaps she will make to celebrate Hannah’s spotlight).

Her advice to anyone interested in joining the Berger Team is that the dealership is likely much larger than you think. With 320 employees and several different departments, there is a job for every skill set.

Outside of work hours, Hannah serves as a Board Member for Emerging Leaders United. She loves queso, her pup Douglas, true crime, and Harry Potter. She welcomes employees to stop by her office to talk about all things HP anytime. P.S. She’s a Ravenclaw!

Congrats, Hannah! Thank you for being on the Berger Team.
