JEREMY MARTINEZ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations are in order for our May Employee Spotlight, Jeremy Martinez!

Before beginning his journey here at Berger, Jeremy was enrolled in an automotive MTECH program in high school, laying the foundation for his automotive career. The Automotive Technology program is a hands-on approach to learning to become a technician. Its curriculum follows the guidelines established by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation. Its curriculum follows the safety requirements, areas of focus, time frames, and task list designed by ASE. 

As fate would have it, Channon Spaans (Service Director) was observing one of Jeremy’s MTECH classes. After class, Jeremy spoke with Channon and inquired about a job at Berger. They spoke about our technician career path as a new technician starting in our Quick Service Lanes and that is where Jeremy landed. He is currently a Quick Service Tech for our Service Department. 

A typical day for him as a Quick Service Tech involves a lot of cars, oil changes, rotations, and “shenanigans”! When asked if he had any advice for anyone interested in working in Quick Service he said to, “prepare for shenanigans”! 

Our Quick Service Technicians always have smiles on their faces and are ready to help in any way they can, even if that means taking a goofy photo or video. It also involves regular banter with his coworker and friend, Charlie, also nicknamed “Sir Los”!😂 In fact, the people he works with are one of the reasons that Jeremy enjoys working at Berger. He also enjoys getting the experience of working on different vehicles every day. 

Kole Guilford (Quick Service Manager) said that Jeremy is a hard-working technician with a positive attitude, making Jeremy a great member of the team. 

Jeremy wanted to give Charlie a shout-out along with everyone in our Service 5-Bays because he enjoys working with all of them when he gets the chance. 

Jeremy also enjoys attending our Berger events such as our employee outing to Berlin Raceway. He loves how fast, loud, and powerful the cars are as they race around the track. He also enjoys our All GM Show! Jeremy enjoys checking out all of the classic vehicles, new cars, and the customizations that different owners do to their vehicles to personalize them. Jeremy actually volunteered to work at the All GM Show last year and we really appreciate it! Luckily for us, he plans to do so again at this summer’s All GM Show. 

As a true car guy, Jeremy drives a Chevy Traverse. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his BMW project car, and his mom’s vehicle! He also enjoys playing video games.
