MORGAN WAWEE EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Put your hands together for our August 2025 Employee Spotlight, Morgan Wawee!

Morgan first joined our team part-time as an HR Assistant in 2024. With her grandfather and father both being former employees of our dealership, Morgan is no stranger to the Berger Chevy name. When she saw the open part-time HR position, she applied! At the time, Morgan balanced her part-time job while finishing her degree. As a recent graduate in December 2024, Morgan is now off to the races as a full-time employee on the Human Resources team! 

A typical day as an HR Assistant consists of onboarding new hires by leading the new hire orientation and working in the backend of our systems to add new employees. In addition to her typical tasks, Morgan is available to our staff for administrative questions. Whether it’s a question about our pay system, how to update your contact information, or anything in between, Morgan is here to help! Employees can find her office located upstairs in the main building, around the corner from the main office.

Morgan’s favorite part about her job is seeing what goes on behind the scenes to keep a business running smoothly. She also enjoys that her position gives her the unique opportunity to get to know all of our departments. With over 320 employees and seven departments, it’s easy to stick to your bubble, but in HR, Morgan gets to know all of our employees. She especially enjoys watching the new hires she onboarded grow into their new positions.  

When asked if she has any advice for anyone interested in working at Berger Chevy, Morgan suggests just take the chance and apply! Even if you just submit a general application, with so many departments and types of careers, you’re sure to find a position you enjoy, and you’re sure to learn a lot along the way.

One of the reasons Morgan enjoys working at Berger is the sense of community. She knows it’s something mentioned a lot, but she wants to drive home the truth of it. The atmosphere created by the Berger Team is one that is friendly and welcoming to all. Even with over 320 employees, at Berger, we’re still able to maintain a close-knit community. 

This year, Berger is celebrating its 100th anniversary! When asked what this milestone means to her and the community, Morgan described the accomplishment as unbelievably cool. We’ve not only been in business for 100 years, but we’ve also been a successful staple in the community, not many businesses can say that! When onboarding, Morgan gives a brief overview of Berger’s history to our new hires. She loves seeing their reaction to our 100 years in business and involvement in the community. In addition to our success in business, we also make it a priority to give back to West Michigan. Morgan helps at our summer employee luncheons and has seen the Berger staff’s generosity firsthand. 

When asked if there is anyone in her department that she’d like to give a shoutout to, she responded with her fellow Human Resources team. She’d like to thank Brittani Searl, Office Director, and Kelsey Musial, HR Generalist, for their guidance and support. They gave her the inside scoop on the “Berger way” of doing things and helped her progress into the position she is in today.

When asked if there was anyone in another department that she would like to highlight, she mentioned the Marketing team and her car salesman, Luke. As mentioned before, Morgan assists at our employee luncheons alongside our Marketing team: Emily LaCroix, Katie Shantz, and Brynn Niedzwiecki. She enjoys spending time with them and helping make the luncheons happen. She’d also like to shout out Luke Alava, who helped her into her brand-new Chevy Trailblazer this year!

When not at work, Morgan enjoys spending her time with friends, reading, traveling, and golfing! A fun fact that not many people may know about her is that she’s a bigger country fan than she may appear to be. Three out of the five total concerts she’s attended have been country artists, including Kenny Chesney at the Sphere in Las Vegas!
