SARAH BETTS EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

June 2nd, 2025 by

Congratulations to our June 2025 Employee Spotlight, Sarah Betts!

Sarah has been a part of the Berger Collision Center team since 2024, working as our Body Shop Administrator. She has been working in the automotive industry since 2019, specifically on the collision side of the business. In addition to her six years of industry experience, Sarah says automotive is in her blood. Her grandfather owned and managed a used vehicle lot, and her aunt and uncle also worked in the field. She finds it fitting that she ended up where she is today!

As our Body Shop Administrator, a typical day for Sarah consists of plenty of math. She handles vehicle pick-ups and payments, and she also helps situate customers with a loaner car while their vehicle is in our collision center. What she enjoys most about her job is helping people in their time of need. Being involved in an accident is a stressful situation, and people heavily rely on their vehicles in their day-to-day lives. Sarah describes a strong sense of fulfillment that she hadn’t expected when she first started in the auto industry. By easing a customer’s stress through excellent customer service and providing a complimentary loaner vehicle, Sarah often finds herself overwhelmed by the gratitude of our customers.

Some of the reasons Sarah enjoys being a part of the Berger team are the friendly demeanors of every employee and the dealership’s ability to keep that small, family-owned atmosphere despite its actual size. With over 320 employees and seven different departments, it can be difficult to get to know everyone, but at Berger, we’re always a team. No matter where you go or who you know, our staff is always willing to offer up a friendly “hello,” whether you see each other every day or just happen to pass them once out in the parts warehouse. Being a family-owned dealership for five generations is a huge accomplishment, and it’s these roots that have established the atmosphere Berger has today.

Speaking of the Berger team, Sarah’s advice to anyone interested in joining our staff would be to just do it! Even if you don’t see an available position, submit a general application. If you have the right skills and the right attitude, we’re always looking to grow our team.

Something that Sarah would like our customers to know is that at Berger’s Body Shop, we offer courtesy loaner vehicles! When your vehicle is out of commission, it can be stressful to figure out new transportation, and at Berger, we understand that. That’s why we offer courtesy rental vehicles to our collision customers. Another thing Sarah would like to let our customers know is that our Collision Center has a mix of female and male staff members! She wants our customers to know that they’re sure to see a friendly face with the Berger team.

When asked if there was anyone in the collision department that Sarah would like to give a shout out to, she responded with two people. First, she mentioned her partner-in-crime in the body shop office, Veronica Murphy. Veronica is a Body Shop Estimator, and the two have bonded over their shared love of books! The second person she mentioned was Cristian Valentin-Dela-Cruz, one of our Body Shop Technicians. She appreciates Cristian’s friendly, positive attitude and his willingness to help communicate with Spanish-speaking customers. Outside of her department, Sarah enjoys working with Devon Stone, one of our Service Advisors. His outgoing personality makes it easy to ask him questions or just have a laugh.

This year, Berger Chevrolet is celebrating 100 years in business! When asked what this milestone means to her, Sarah responded that she feels proud to work for a company with such strong roots in West Michigan. Berger’s longevity is a testament to our long-standing commitment to the community, and she has a strong sense of pride to be able to add to the ongoing legacy.

When not at work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her two sons hiking in the woods, going on adventures, or playing in tadpole ponds. A fun fact many people may not know about her is that she is a self-published author! Sarah spends her free time writing, and she is currently working on her second book.

Once again, congrats to Sarah on being our June 2025 Employee Spotlight!
