June’s employee luncheon was a celebration of all that we achieved in 2025, including being awarded our 14th Dealer of the Year award! To celebrate, the Berger Team sported their Berger 100th anniversary merch, enjoyed lunch from Tamales Mary, and picked up their Dealer of the Year gift.

During lunch, leadership shared a heartfelt thank you for our team’s dedication to serving West Michigan’s automotive needs. Our employees are the reason it’s always better at Berger!

We headed to Scott Lake Golf Club for the annual Boys & Girls Club Drive for Success Golf Outing. At this event, Berger and other local businesses came together to support and provide funding for teen life skills programs, including free driver’s education and workforce development.

This program provides quality drivers training classes to club members at no cost to them. The mission of Drive for Success is to decrease the number of motor vehicle incidents involving young drivers through classes, additional mentorship, hands-on training, test preparation, instruction on police procedure, and life skills development.

The Berger Team came together at our employee luncheon to enjoy good food, converse with good company, and give back to the community by supporting the local nonprofit, Healthy Homes Coalition of West Michigan!

HHCWM's mission is to prioritize children’s health and well-being by eliminating harmful housing conditions, beginning in Grand Rapids’ hardest hit neighborhoods. Through direct services, community organizing, and continuous collaboration, they work to make our community a safer place for everyone to live. Watch our segment with HHCWM here!

Feast for Kids is an annual charity dinner hosted by Kids' Food Basket. The American Culinary Federation of Greater Grand Rapids 2025 Chefs of the Year donated their time and talents for the evening by preparing their best cuisine for guests to enjoy during the event. The Berger team enjoyed an evening of good food and celebrating all the work that KFB does in West Michigan. Our team heard powerful stories about the impact KFB has had on local schools, families, and individual students.

We are so thankful for the continuous opportunities to partner with organizations like Kids' Food Basket. The impact they have on our communities by providing children with proper nourishing foods help to make West Michigan a better place. Learn more about KFB and what they do below.

Nothing brings people together quite like a cup of coffee! The Berger team is collaborating with Last Mile Cafe, a local company that has set out to create more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive coffee. In fulfillment of this mission, they give back 2% of all revenue to causes that support the Grand Rapids community and the planet.

The Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year program aims to foster a new generation of leaders and to prepare the youth involved to live and lead in the world of tomorrow. Berger Chevrolet has closely partnered with the BGC of Grand Rapids for many years and is represented in judging for the Youth of the Year competition.

At the Youth of the Year lunch, the Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids announced Cyrus as the 2026 winner. We wish him the best of luck in the next steps and congratulate all of the candidates on their efforts, confidence, and impact on their community.

Orange represents childhood hunger awareness, and so for National Nutrition Month in March, Kids' Food Basket goes orange!

The Berger team had the chance to volunteer during Go Orange month by packaging food items for sack suppers. During the school year, KFB provides over 11,000 sack suppers every day to kids in Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan counties.

The Michigan International Auto Show is hosted every January at the DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids. The show features vehicles of all makes and models, drawing crowds from all over to view the newest and best vehicles on the market. As your West Michigan Chevy Dealer, Berger has the largest selection of new and used Chevys in Grand Rapids.

The Berger team kicked off football season by tailgating with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids at their Be Great Tailgate!

We got to rep our favorite NFL team, have some fun with members of the community, and raise money to help provide kids in our community with a future that is full of promise and potential. A huge thank you to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth for all the work you do in the West Michigan community and for inviting us to such a fun event. Go Lions!

The Berger team enjoyed a day of play with our partnership with THE PLAYGROUNDgr. This organization has set out to spread awareness for the emotional and mental health benefits of play. Through play-based support, therapy, and awareness, they support the emotional health, mental health, trauma, and grief of community members of all ages.

Here at Berger, we are committed to making a difference in our community. That is why, for our 100th year in business, we matched all the money raised at our employee luncheons to donate to our partner organization.

Here at Berger, we understand how valuable education is. That is why we have once again partnered with Heart of West Michigan United Way and their “Stuff the Bus” campaign. This annual school supply drive helps ensure students across West Michigan start the school year with the tools they need to succeed, such as school supplies.

Our employees really came through for this event, raising over $1,000. In celebration of our 100th year in business, Berger has committed to matching all employee luncheon donation totals, bringing our total to over $2,000 donated plus school supplies!

Grand Rapids is 175 this year!

Our team traveled downtown with a Silverado ZR2, celebrating with the community in style. We had the opportunity to meet so many amazing members of our community and see all of the ways the city decided to celebrate such an impressive birthday.

Grand Rapids is such a vibrant and giving city. We are so honored to have called it home for the last 100 years, and we look forward to the next 100 years!

The Berger team is proud to partner with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Kent County. CASA’s mission is to empower community members to provide best-interest advocacy for children in Kent County’s child welfare system. By giving vulnerable children a voice in the court system, CASA volunteers are making a difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

Operation United is an annual event hosted by Heart of West Michigan United Way, as an opportunity for local businesses to give back to veterans in the West Michigan community. As Operation United Ambassadors, the Berger Team visited different homes where we greeted the sponsoring team of volunteers, thanked each veteran for their service, presented them with a gift, and chatted with them about their military experiences. This event mobilizes volunteers to recognize those who have sacrificed so much for our country by completing outdoor improvements to make veterans’ homes more enjoyable, safer, and more accessible. As the official Chevy dealer of Grand Valley State University Athletics, we’re proud to work with GVSU’s coaching staff to find the perfect set of wheels for each of them. We are excited to support our GVSU community and provide the coaching staff with Chevrolet vehicles and certified service through our partnership.

Our team had the opportunity to be a reading volunteer at Little Lights Preschool at the SECOM Resource Center.

SECOM is a Key Resource Center empowering families through education, healthy living, and economic opportunities. The center runs an early childhood education program that seeks to serve vulnerable 3 and 4-year-olds living in our community.

Reading is such an important part of learning, which is why schools across the nation celebrate March as Reading Month. We wanted to give a special thank you to SECOM for all that they do in our community, and for their commitment to education!

In celebration of our 100 year anniversary, a member of our team sat down with eightWest to talk about what 100 years of service means to us. Over the last century, the West Michigan community has entrusted us with everything from vehicle sales and service to parts and collision. Our Berger Team recently celebrated our twelve-time Dealer of the Year Award and kicked off our new mural project with a paint-by-number day for employees!

As Berger Chevrolet approached our 100-year anniversary, this mural represents our dealership's family-owned history and high-performance legacy in the West Michigan community.

We’ve had a beautiful experience partnering with Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts for this mural project. Our mural artist, Kevin Wolfrom, is a West Michigan native, a lifelong Chevy owner, and a Berger customer!

Our awesome employees came together to help us “Stuff the Bus” with school supplies! In partnership with Heart of West Michigan United Way our team collected school supplies to support afterschool programs at local non-profit, STEM Greenhouse! STEM Greenhouse aims to provide vulnerable children with a solid STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) foundation to help cultivate education and career success.

Berger is a proud Workplace Partner of Heart of West Michigan United Way! We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us since 1925! Through our partnership with HWMUW, our team donates weekly pledges to help fund local nonprofits in our community. Through our partnership with FOX 17 Morning Mix our team helped raise funds and bring raise awareness about the amazing work that Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan does in the community! They support families with children who travel far from home for medical care. RMHCWM's mission is to provide family housing and resources while their child is receiving treatment. Our employees raised money for a local nonprofit, Hope for Single Moms. Hope for Single Moms' mission is to help children thrive by providing single-mom families with the resources and opportunities they need to achieve economic independence. Their program focuses on single parents who are full-time students in college or trade school and aids them in achieving the education that will help provide for their families. We kicked off our first Employee Luncheon of the summer season with our Berger Brings the Basics campaign! We partnered with Heart of West Michigan United Way and FOX17 Morning Mix to support local nonprofits, H.O.A.P. and SECOM Resource Center by collecting basic household items for those in need. Earth Day is a day to celebrate our shared home and ignite action for a sustainable future! We know that it's important to be conscious of our effect on the planet that we call home. That’s why here at Berger, we are continuously making greener choices to express our gratitude and help make a better future for our planet. This year we had the opportunity to celebrate and give back to our environment by volunteering at Kent County Parks Department’s Earth Day Celebration at Millennium Park! We spent the day cleaning up community playgrounds and picking up debris throughout the park.

Our team had the opportunity Go Orange and spend some time volunteering at Kids' Food Basket. Orange is the color that represents childhood hunger awareness. Our friends at Kids' Food Basket are an amazing resource in our community who provide meals for over 34,000 children in Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, and Allegan counties who face food insecurities. We had the opportunity to sit down with FOX17 to recap the efforts our Berger employees have made to make a difference in our community. From weekly monetary donations and volunteer work to collecting household products and toy donations, our employees continue to go above and beyond to help support our West Michigan community. Through our partnership with FOX 17 Morning Mix we were able to highlight some of the amazing local non-profits our dealership and employees have supported through our Berger Gives Back campaign! We had the opportunity to take one of our very own Chevy Exquinox models to explore ArtPrize 2023. ArtPrize is an annual international art competition that takes place in venues all across Grand Rapids, MI. This event celebrates and brings together artists working in all mediums from anywhere in the world. Congratulations to all of the amazing and brave artists who entered their work. We partnered with local non-profit, VETSports West Michigan to help raise awareness and funds for local Michigan Veterans. VETSports’ goal is to help veterans achieve better physical, mental, and emotional health. With the help of our amazing employees, we were able to raise over $600 to help provide continuous opportunities for veterans to reintegrate into their communities through sports, community service, events, and partnerships. We had the opportunity to participate in Heart of West Michigan United Way's Day of Caring; A day that hundreds of volunteers come together to help within the West Michigan Community. 

Berger's role in Day of Caring was to spread awareness about Treetops Collective, a local nonprofit that connects with and invests in New American (refugee) women leaders, together transforming our communities into places of belonging. Click here to learn more.

It’s football season, and we had the opportunity to partner with Ally and State Champs in a “Ticket Takeover” for the 2023 East Grand Rapids vs. Lowell, high school football game at Memorial Field. State Champs has been producing high-quality, Emmy award-winning sports, feature shows, TV series, radio, and podcast shows for the last 20 years. Through our partnership, we were able to support two local teams and cover the cost of tickets for the first 300 football fans at the game! Want to learn more? Check out our video!

In collaboration with HUB International, we joined the HUB Red Paper Clip Challenge to help support Hope Network, an organization dedicated to empowering people in the community to overcome challenges. With this event, HUB employees were tasked with trading up a red paper clip. That’s where we come in! We traded a By Berger cooler for HUB’s red paper clip. Our cooler will become one of the items on display during the silent and live auction fundraising for Hope Network later this year. After a busy summer of collecting household goods, volunteering, and fundraising, Berger is honored to be the recipient of this year’s Big Heart Award from Heart of West Michigan United Way! Their dedication to making a positive impact on our West Michigan Community is truly inspiring. From participating in the Stuff the Bus school supply drive to collecting basic household items for those who may not not have access, to voluntary weekly payroll deductions, the Berger team is beyond proud to partner with HWMUW in any way we can. A good quality education is crucial to a student's success in life. Purchasing school supplies can be a financial burden for parents, families, and teachers. That’s why Berger Chevrolet has joined Heart of West Michigan United Way’s “Stuff the Bus” campaign. By collecting school supply donations from Berger employees and the West Michigan Community, we are able to provide kids with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom so that they can focus on what really matters, learning. Our awesome employees came together to help “Stuff the Silverado” full of school supplies for our local schools in need of donations! Plus, we had the opportunity to host a honk-a-thon along 28th Street where one honk equaled one dollar donated! Altogether we were able to collect $700+ PLUS a truckload of school supplies! Meaning in Colors' goal is to provide resources and services for individuals who may be struggling with academic, personal, or professional growth. They aim to break down barriers by providing resources for education, empowerment, and becoming self-sufficient.
